Fundação Arte
e Cultura
Mitrelli is the main sponsor of Fundação Arte e Cultura (Art and Culture Foundation) in Angola, operated by Menomadin Foundation.
Fundação Arte e Cultura, Mitrelli’s social responsibility unit, is dedicated to transforming lives in Angola through arts, culture, and education. Established in 2006, the foundation has become a beacon of hope in Luanda’s Ilha neighborhood, offering a comprehensive community center that empowers children, youth, and women.
Located in a region marked by limited resources, the foundation provides a holistic approach to community development. Its programs include art workshops, cultural exhibitions, literacy initiatives, vocational training, and digital skills development. By preserving local cultural heritage and creating opportunities for personal growth, Fundação Arte e Cultura helps in driving social mobility.
Impact Highlights (2006-2024):
- 7,000 children served through the community center
- 230 individuals trained in IT courses
- 380 adults achieved literacy
- 160 women trained in vocational skills (sewing)
Recognized by Angolan government ministries and partnering with international organizations like UNICEF and UNESCO, the foundation exemplifies Mitrelli’s commitment to sustainable community development and social transformation.
Cardiology Initiative
Project
An international project of strategic partnership between the Ivorian Ministry of Health, the Abidjan Heart Institute (ICA), and key international allies—including Mitrelli, the Menomadin Foundation and Save A Child’s Heart NGO—is transforming cardiovascular care in Côte d’Ivoire. Since its launch in 2020, the initiative has focused on pediatric cardiac surgery, capacity-building at ICA, and lifesaving interventions for children, directly improving the lives of over 62 children and their families while training more than 200 ICA healthcare professionals.
By enhancing local expertise, infrastructure, and sustainability, the program positions ICA as a regional center of excellence in pediatric cardiac surgery. Recent collaborations, such as the Canadian delegation’s mission, provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer to empower local healthcare professionals. With its focus on skill development and innovation, the initiative solidifies Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership in specialized healthcare, ensuring a healthier future for children across West Africa.

Alongside our projects, we lead numerous social initiatives year-round in all the regions where we operate, consistently going beyond our core work to improve the well-being of communities. Our efforts include electrifying schools and orphanages, renovating healthcare facilities, and donating critical medical equipment to hospitals. We also support education by providing schools with essential resources like computers, furniture, and books, and contribute to local development by enhancing public spaces. These actions, along with many others, reflect our unwavering dedication to uplifting communities and creating lasting, positive change.
Beyond addressing essential needs, our initiatives bring joy and empowerment to the communities we serve. From setting up libraries to inspire young readers, to donating footballs to children to promote play and teamwork, and providing holiday support for at-risk families, we work to foster connection and hope. Our employees regularly volunteer to support the environment and assist underprivileged populations, such as distributing essentials to new mothers and enhancing access to education. These efforts reflect our belief that even small gestures can create lasting positive impacts and strengthen the bonds within communities.
PIM: Social Integration
Program
In collaboration with Mitrelli’s Urbanization sector, ISP Jean Piaget de Benguela, and Sinprof, PIM ensures urban communities flourish long after construction is complete, embodying Mitrelli’s dedication to sustainable, transformative development.
PIM takes a proactive approach to prevent infrastructure stagnation or decay by nurturing a living ecosystem where residents actively participate in preserving and advancing their environment. Through the integration of education, cultural engagement, and economic capacity-building, PIM transforms static housing projects into thriving, self-reliant communities, creating a lasting legacy of resilience and opportunity.
Operating across 10 centralities, PIM benefits approximately 150,000 residents, fostering long-term growth and sustainability for generations to come.
